This presentation provides general information about the background and nature of SNOMED CT.

A short history of experience in recording clinical ideas in computer systems over the past forty years. This sets the context for the requirements associated with the adoption and development of SNOMED CT.

This presentation introduces the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI)). You will learn what the USCDI is, who publishes the USCDI and how it impacts Public Health interoperability. The presentation also covers USCDI+ and its relationship to USCDI. We also discuss how the Public Health community can contribute to the content of these programs to ensure that it meets the needs of the community.

The Public Health FHIR Playbook is designed by the Public Health FHIR Implementation Collaborative (PHFIC) to help state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) public health agencies successfully implement FHIR, a standard for electronic health data exchange. PHFIC developed the Playbook to describe FHIR, its policy context, and steps that enable successful FHIR implementation at public health agencies.

Resources resulting from a Public Health FHIR Implementation Collaborative workshop include a high-level overview of FHIR, a more in-depth review of the rules, regulations, and policy framework behind interoperability, and a workshop summary.
