This presentation provides general information about the background and nature of SNOMED CT.

A short history of experience in recording clinical ideas in computer systems over the past forty years. This sets the context for the requirements associated with the adoption and development of SNOMED CT.

This presentation introduces the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI)). You will learn what the USCDI is, who publishes the USCDI and how it impacts Public Health interoperability. The presentation also covers USCDI+ and its relationship to USCDI. We also discuss how the Public Health community can contribute to the content of these programs to ensure that it meets the needs of the community.

The interoperability of data, and delivery of a consistent level of data quality, are critical factors in the National Digital Health Strategy – both for quality of immediate care, and for the development of longer-term health strategies. This is the first of a three-part webinar series looking at interoperability and clinical terminologies, with a particular focus on the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), a key standard for interoperable data in Australia.
